Default New EAZ-FIX Professional v9.1.0 Build 2694615056 supports Windows 7

The size is 104MB and it supports Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7

Looks like the Drive Imaging remains intact in this version.

Check it out here ---> http://www.eazsolution.com/en/download_eazfix.php

I suspect it's only a matter of time until CTM is setup this way also. Supposedly it's a knock off of AyRecovery which offers a version like this!

Looks like this Eaz-fix v9.1 version is a little buggy, just like Rollback v9.1 is.

Why do you say that?
I've been using the prior version of Eaz-Fix since I installed Win 7 without any problems. I'm reluctant to uninstall what's not broken just to update to this version but I guess I will. I would like to know about the buggy part that you mention before I update

It's buggy for Windows 7 because checkdisk will occur when you do a basline update.

Yes.

Stay with your previous version which is rock stable for now.

Another new Rollback version is expected in Jan/Feb 2010 soon.

I already put it on before your replies, lol. I checked out their changelog and noticed it said
Quote:
Product activation during setup, one reboot for both setup and activation
Not true!
Also it said
Quote:
Added a command line switch to disable/enable hourly snapshot defrag
I wonder what the switch is? If I had any complaints about EF, this would be it. It's a useless feature since the system is never idle long enough for their defrag to finish during the auto defrag. I prefer doing it manually because of that

Did you get a checkdisk process run when you update your baseline snapshot?

No chkdsk here except when I start it myself. I've taken snapshots, rolled back etc. It seems to be working fine here with dual boot XP and 7

Rolled back and taking snapshots works fine. The checkdisk run happens only when I update the baseline snapshot.

Well update baseline went well and uninstalling went well. Their drive image app didn't work well. In the past, their drive image worked without any problems, as a matter of fact, for me it's the only image/restore app that has always worked. It even hosed Win 7 System Image where it wouldn't run. Presently and for the last couple of weeks, I've been using CTM but probably not for long. It too was working fine until the program updated. Now I'm getting the chkdsk running at boot on both partitions, XP and Win 7 although it may be unrelated. When or if I uninstall CTM, I'm probably going to just stick with Windows System image. I know it's not a quick solution for restoring but I feel it would be safer in the long run.

Thanks for your update ! I'll stay off this version 9.1 and wait for version 9.2.

Be warned about CTM in this forum posts

Well it appears that it wasn't CTM after all. I had another security app that was blocking the writing of bootsqm.dat. Since it couldn't write to it, chkdsk was repeated on following boots

Correction : Just found out after such a long time that the checkdisk was caused by my own RAM hardware issue.

So, you may go with v9.1 Eaz-Fix or Rollback. Both are good to go !

Thanks for reporting back. As of now, I'm sticking with CTM even though I have a license for Eaz-Fix. I haven't done an update baseline yet and might do it in the near future but I'm backed up with Images for restore if needed.
