I don't know how it compares to Vipre but on my system ++ works very fast. Added to the fact you have a HIPS, Firewall, Malware Protection, Run Safer, plus excellent logging.

I seem to remember in an earlier Tall Emu thread, that $19.98 is to be the new regular price. Did I read wrong?

 

I believe that was for OA Premium, not the ++ version.

Something is not right here. Online Armor++ is $59.95 on the Tall Emu web site. So 50% off is $30.

BTW, been using OA++ for about 6 months. It runs very light with minimal pop ups. Excellent protection.

hmm, more and more companys not developing for x64, these companys will run out of ideas as more and more come to x64,

x86 is old tech, even dell supply their computers now with x64,

its becoming old to hear the words 'patchguard' now, think its about time companys did their best with what they have and offer protection as best they can for all versions of OS, especially new ones.

until there is a workaround or something new arrives were it can be worked around or whatever... i aint the expert, but i expect more from these companys to offer good software to us x64 users.

 

x64 support for OA is already in the works.

The previous normal price of US$39.95 has been wrong. It seems they were aware of it.

what antivirus engine do they use?

 

They use a-Squared Anti-Malware and – I think – Ikarus Antivirus. Someone else correct me if I'm wrong.

But I read somewhere that the detections are not exactly the same, namely dealing false positives. Since OA uses a database of trusted files, whenever a file is detected as malicious, it will be checked against OA's file database to reduce false positives. So if you're worried about false positives with a-Squared (as they seem to have a reputation for this, though I can't attest to this), OA++ should reduce this, despite them using the same engine.

And I feel a disclaimer is in order here: I haven't used OA++ or a-Squared Anti-Malware. All I'm going by is what others have posted and what I've read here.

I did it after OA ++ was released. Cost me $20 US. All prices seem to have gone down 40 percent since then though so......
