Default The word Cloud

Hello,

There is a new, "actually not so new" technology out there. In this technology there is a word "cloud". How can we find a match to this word in our languages? What should be the translation? Cloud should stay cloud or should we say something else?

For instance:

Cloud Scan = Online Scan
Cloud Scan = Instant Scan
Cloud Scan = Community Scan
Cloud Scan = Clump Scan

What is your choice?

Default Re: The word Cloud

If I remember correctly, Esther Dyson coined the term in the 1990s when cloud computing was still science fiction. She used the term as an abstraction, a metaphor for the Internet as a ubiquitous non-place. So do not translate!
