Compression does wonders
Even the most basic one can cut the size of such info transfer for over 50% without affecting CPU usage.@pbust I've also had random problems with Quick scan staying at 0% on my sister's laptop. Once it was stuck at 0% and next time it was working. Then it was stuck again and next time it worked again. Without any real patter, it looked random to me. She's using Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit.

On the other hand, if you are running on-demand scans every day over large number of files, of course the bandwidth consumption will increase considerably. But the mayority of average non-advanced users don't do that very often. |

pbust, is there any chance of TruPrevent integration into Panda Cloud or there aren't any plans what so ever for it in Panda Cloud?

I don't think so, I remember when TruPrevent was a standalone application and cost money.

There wasn't any Pana Cloud either back then, so saying something based on 2-3 years old info doesn't mean much. Besides, TruPrevent is not available in stand alone form (anymore).

Alot of company's are integrating things they used to charge separate for, Why not Panda. So I agree with you just because something was one way before does not mean it will stay that way. |

Well maybe, anyway the truprevent that I remember was not very lightweight, I dont know what have happened with the latest versions. You can try ThreatFire if you want to have something similar to Trueprevent

I'm testing Panda Cloud on my laptop.
XP Home, SP3, With Online Armor ++. Absolutely no problems once it has learnt your programs and others which they may invoke. I'm impressed, so far. |

You are not alone on Windows 7 - don't forget Windows Defender . As PCAV is scanning executables only , performing regular on-demand scans with something else (e.g. online scanner of another product) could suffice , I think . But I haven't tried it . |

PCAV 1.0 seems to state that it's correctly connected to internet regardless of the actual state. I was offline and it was saying the same thing as when i was actually online. pbust, what's wrong here?

It may just be pinging off your router or server and saying it is connected. When Hurricane Ike tore through Houston a year ago and we lost our internet for 6 weeks my computer's wireless said I was connected correctly. Customer support said that was because it was reading the router/firewall and had a good connection..just the musings of a Texan...

that is because your connect locally that will always say you are connected fully even if you have internet or not. i think its a GUI bug. |

You may be right I was taking a stab at what may be the cause. My Prevx immediately lets me know when the connection is lost with alert style popups... ![]()

You can't be connected locally... I disabled my wireless on laptop and it still said i'm correcty connected. No other (even local) connection was available.
