Just a question to prevx paid users, do any of you use prevx as a standalone? I have to admit I am still using with an av at the moment, MSE, which is both free and good and the two go together well. However, part of me thinks it would be good to run prevx on its own, but I havn't quite found the bottle to do it yet. Is there anyone out there running solo with it, and if so are you comfortable with it? Thanks, Rollers
I am trying Prevx with no AV. But I also am using DefenseWall just in case. It does feel a little strange running with no AV. I just check with Malewarebyetes and asquared free once in awhile. I guess time will tell.
More or less. Prevx for real time protection. Once a month I check with counterspy & Dr.Web. Doing this for 5 months now and the last mentionned proggies did not find a thing. And I'm practicing safe hex Boring. I know.
I'm running PrevX on its own. I did run it with MSE and had no problems. I uninstalled MSE just to see what the performance change was like and havn't gone back. I have Windows Defender disabled. However I do consider a hardware firewall (NAT) with SPI a must! All latest patches of course. But everyone is different - my surfing habits tend to the boring
Thanks for all your answers guys. Ok, you have given me the courage to give it a go. I am running behind a nat firewall and also using pc tools firewall which runs nice and light on 64 bit windows 7. I do have malwarebytes installed as on demand for the occasional double checking, but apart from that prevx and a firewall running real time is about as light as I can get. Regards Rollers
Prevx is all I run for an AV like program. I also have Defensewall running with it tho. Rockin combination.
I like the look of online armor, but alas for me as its only 32 bit. I am looking forward to safeonline getting the 64 bit version though.
Another vote for Prevx 3.0 and Online-Armor (paid). I also have a paid version of Malwarebytes but protection module is disabled. Both run very light but the OA causes a bit of a delay in the boot-up. Very happy with the combination.
I sometimes flip-flop back and forth between Look N Stop and OA. Look N Stop is another very tight firewall and light as a feather. The big thing though for me is OA's HIPS, it really keeps unwanted things from invading the Laptop. I may throw on Mamutu for a second layer since I got a 1yr free license a month ago... I'm rambling off topic - sorry...

I use the new avast5 beta with prevx. avast5 has a very nice web scanner. Both are very light. Dream team.
It eveluates itself day by day, may be you cant use it standalone for now but after some big updates. Expacially when offline scan mode comes alive, that would be inevitable for me to use it standalone.
