I am setting up my laptop which is running ESS on Windows 7 and trying to setup Windows Media Center to share between the laptop and the xbox 360. ESS firewall blocks incoming UPNP requests when I try to connect them together which stops the laptop from connecting with the xbox. I went into ESS firewall configuration and checked the box to allow UPNP in the trusted Zone. Now I can connect the Laptop to the Xbox 360 as it should. I am just wondering is this is the proper way to setup this type of connection and is it safe to leave the ESS firewall set to allow UPNP in the trusted zone?

Hello WigglyTheGreat,
You are correct. You did configure your ESET firewall the correct way to allow communication between your PC and your Xbox. For re-assurance, our knowledgebase article listed below has the steps that you completed to solve the connection problem: http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page...nt&id=SOLN2317 |
