Default NuWave Software

I came across this, has anyone tried this AV
It uses five well known AV engines in real-time.
I haven't seen it mentioned here in any threads.

Too bad pretty much all the engines they use are um not so good.
Maybe AVG and Sunbelt are decent enough but others. Well...

Interesting marriage of engines. Configurability and system load would be interesting to know.

I wonder why they claim to be "the worlds most powerful and the only protection with multiple scan engines"?

I guess you need a space rocket computer, with double turbo + extras, to run all them engines?! :-)

Cheers

Multicore was actually discussed here before,

http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=207868

What? Multi-AV is evolving! Multi-AV evolved to Multicore!

You need a dual-core or quad-core to run a Multicore.

In the old thread one user observed that it used four processes and ran heavy!
False positives seemed to be an issue too.

Thanks for pointing out that link. I searched the forum for NuWave but had no luck.

More is not always better.... It just gives more of a chance for FP's and in a way less of a chance detecting threats.

Why use 5 when 1 can do it just as good, causes less issues and is alot lighter on the system.

I sent an email to the company when the last thread was posted. Received a reply - so just for your info, the company does respond to enquiries.

Oh these guys were down for a bit - they didn't have a website. Good to see them back up Yes, it would be nice to see some other engines in there, however, the ones they have would provide that added layer of protection
