New virusinfo.info test

    Hi everybody,

    A new virusinfo.info test is out now...
    Yes, it's non scientifc, and btw just statistical but ckeck out how Microsoft, McAfee and AVG perform, you might be surprised...

    Kaspersky dosn't have much heuristic detection on VT. The same as many other antiviruses. You can't test with VirusTotal - you need to install it as some malware application decrypts files in memory and drops them, and most antiviruses can detect them when they are being dropped, but not On-Demand while they are encrypted in the main dropper.

    But try to compare the previous test with this new one and see how much the average virus detection has decreased. :eek:

    This test always produces the same comments and outline: it's useless.

    Maybe it's just me, but I have a hatred for these kind of graphs, always makes results so hard to read.

    Deja-vù once again. I don't know why this guys keep doing that tests knowing that are wrong, and I don't know why people even pay attention to them.

    Maybe because the samples are close to be ITW, even if we all know the limitations of choosing VT.
    To me, that's closer to real life detection than testing AVs against Zoo virii.

    As a matter of fact, virusinfo is informative, statistical but not scientific.

    Nick Golovko/Virusinfo take advantage of some human habits, like e.g. being curious to all that is labeled as test, review and comparison. ;)
