Default Windows XP does not see an external disk

When I activate Returnil (session lock) and then turn on an external USB disk, the disk does not appear in Windows Explorer, and so it can´t be used.

To use the disk with Returnil active, I have to turn on the disk before activating Returnil.

Is this the expected behavoir?

Hi Robin A.,
Welcome to the forums

Yes, it is expected as it provides protection against infection or exploit from unauthorized USB devices while RVS protection is on.

Mike

Edit: This has been determined to be not expected and the team is investigating the issue

Hi wrongway67,
I made a mistake in assuming that discussions of this had progressed to being included in the release. It was not and I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

@Robin A.:

Can you describe your system and when this happens in greater detail?

Thanks
Mike

Sorry, the situation described happened yesterday, but today I can´t reproduce it. Thanks.

Ok - keep an eye out for the next time it happens (if it happens) to see if there is anything trying to block USB access (firewall/HIP maybe?).
