Default Virtual Box Question(s)

I have been giving Virtual Box a test drive and there was one glaring thing I couldn't seem to get past. I like the idea of being able to use an OS virtually, which comes in handy for software testing, but I cannot seem to share folders between my real system and the virtual one.

I need to use this command to share directories: "net use x: \\vboxsvr\sharename". But the problem is that I have no internet/network access to invoke that command; my internet adapter is USB and does not seem to be recognized by Virtualbox.

Any suggestions or ideas on how to get this to work?

I need more information such as the host and the guest info; then and only then I'll be able to help you.

Consider me an ignorant dumbass when it comes to Virtualbox. What information do you need?

VirtualBox 3 has the option to install its own nat device and then you can have your own subnet of virtual machines ... If you use this option, you should be able to route to the virtual machines and share the data in the classic way, as you would any two lan-ed hosts.

Which reminds me, I should write an article on this one

Which OS are you installin on?

If it's Ubuntu there are plenty of "how-to" guides that cover the full config.

Thanks, but I'm not a Linux user - I plan to install VB3 on WinXP Pro (SP3).
