Can I Kill These Acronis Startup Items?

I couldn't help but notice that when I check msconfig in windows xp, I see quite a few Acronis startup items that run as soon as my pc boots up. They are the following:

TrueImageMonitor.exe
AcronisTimounterMonitor
Acronis Scheduler2 Service

I have Acronis TI 10 installed... I was wondering if it would be ok for me to disable these startup items through msconfig, or somehow disable them through the program itself. I don't use Acronis TI 10 in windows at all whatsoever. I only use the simple RESCUE BOOT DISC which doesn't even need the OS. The only time I ever launched Acronis TI 10 through windows xp was when I had to in order to burn the rescue boot disc. Please let me know what I can do with those three startup items. I could definitely gain some speed by disabling them somehow since I use an old pentium 3 computer. I used to go to castlecops.com to check out information on any startup item you could ever image, until the site closed down. From what I remember looking up back than those startup items were listed as being absolutely necessary.

If you do not want to do live scheduled automatic backups or be able to explore and copy data from images while in Windows there is not any need for any of the Acronis services to be loaded.

Indeed since you only run from the rescue CD and do all the operations manually why not do a complete uninstall of the TI program? that way it cannot interfere in any way with your computer operations.

This question comes up quite frequently. However I have never seen any benchmark results of before and after disabling/removing the services or program. I can see that a second or two may be saved on startups but I doubt that there is any measurable impact on day to day running when TI is in its standby state.

With ver 2009, even with those items disabled, I can still 2-click an Image in windows and explore it. There is a seperate Acronis scheduler service that is still running in the Services list.

Don't forget to disable or remove the Acronis backup archive explorer. This is to be found in Windows device manager.

From my point of view I leave TI running as intended so I can take advantage of its automatic hands free processes.

Over the years the biggest system hogs I found were Nortons system Works then followed by the latest incarnation of AVG. True Image is only a flea bite compared to them.
