I have encountered the following weird problem with true image 11 on XP Sp3 box.
I tried to recover system disc C: from full partition backup and i am only getting file recovery type of options. I am 100% confident that when i did the backup i chose whole partition backup. I also tried with older images that have worked in the past and i only get file recovery options (i.e. ...which location do you want files to be restored..") I decided to go ahead last night and the result was that my C drive filled up with duplicate files-even though i chose the option to overwrite everything. Now system boots but unstable with weird duplicate file names and extensions. Any suggestions? |

Hello nhaliasos,
Thank you for using Acronis True Image To make sure that you have backed up the entire hard disk or a partition try to mount the archive. Backup archives of files or folders cannot be mounted, and the appropriate message will appear. Also, you can find the respective log file of the backup archive creation, it contains the necessary information. You are unable to recover the entire partition from a files & folders backup, but if the above operations confirm that you have archived the partition, create Acronis Booting Rescue Media and use it to recover the archive. Thank you. -- Oleg Lee
