Default Trouble with Firefox

I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 and I can't modify my Firefox (3.0.11) Bookmarks at all. I find that I can't delete existing ones nor create new one because Firefox will restore what I thought I deleted and refuse to register the new ones when I start it again.

Any ideas?

Smile Re: Trouble with Firefox

Hi Riverrun

May be a problem with an extension...

First try in Ff safe mode:

Create a copy of Ff icon and paste it on your desktop
Right click to access contextual menu: properties
In the command line enter this: firefox %u -safe-mode
Change the name of the icon for somethings like FF safe mode
start Ff with this safe mode icon...

And try again to delete or save bookmarks.
If this works, the problem comes from an extension,
if not we know the problem is elsewhere...

... and come back here and we check other possibilities

Hope this help. Lest us know.

Re-set Bookmarks to FF default in safe-mode and it's working properly now.
