Default Pre-existing Spyware

Will Spyware blaster detect spyware that is already on a computer? I haven't downloaded Spyware blaster yet, but would like to if it can scan for and detect spyware that may already be on my computer. Thanks.

No. SpywareBlaster is a preventative measure. It's not a scanner or spyware remover. It sets "kill bits" in the registry to prevent spyware from getting on your PC in the first place. SpywareGuard by the same author acts as a real time monitor to catch spyware when it tries to execute. But again, it's not a scanner one runs to clean up spyware programs that are already there.

For scanning and cleaning of spyware that's already on your machine, Spybot Search & Destroy and Adaware are the two most commonly recommended programs. (All these apps are freeware, btw.)

Sig is directly on target and 100% correct.
