Default nod v4 av

im hopeing for some advise as think my nod is effecting my startup an shutdown times

ive noticed something within nod is scaning my pc as soon as the pc is showing my desktop does anyone know how to disable this or make it run a bit quicker as i have to wait for it before i can use my laptop

also as i dont have an email client is it safe to turn off the email scaner

specs on the laptop
c2d t7200 2.0ghz
2gig ram
nivida go7600 256mb

vista 32bit home premuim

(not the slowest thing on earth)

i was hoping for a blackspeare guide to help me configure my nod

Does setting real-time protection to scan files with default extensions instead of all files make a difference? Do you use default settings, ie. advanced heuristics and runtime packers are disabled on file access?

i did setup advance heuristics unwanted an unsafe programs within antivirus and antispyware

an the same within realtime i think

ive reset everything to default for now to see if it helps

but i think nods is now a little complex for me

its something called a startup scan as its just done one not to long ago even though my laptops been on since 3.30
