Default How may Apps have you tried ?

Don't know about you, but quite frankly over the years i've lost count.

Sitting in a folder, with numerous sub folders, on the desktop are literally dozens and dozens of Apps that i still havn't got round to installing and testing. A fair number of these are Apps that people on here use, and are well thought of. Several are slightly/older ones that many of you may have forgotten about, but could still be useful in some way/s.

I really feel for developers who slave away for weeks/months/years providing us with software, often very good, with little or no return !

I've lost count since I've been a member here, and it hasn't even been "years" yet, lol. A lot of that has to do with once having "Wilders Syndrome", and another is that I seem to have one of the most fickle systems to have ever been created. It runs good, hardly ever gives me any sort of problems, but when it comes to security software, it'll either purr happily along or chew it up and spit it out, never any middle ground

Being here at this forum has provided me with a front row seat to the birth and death of countless apps (some of which I'm still quietly hoping someone will pull the plug on). My trying out multiple apps per week days are long gone now though. I rely on 3 apps period, and, so far, they've not failed me yet.

4 this year including the current MSE - Avira, Panda Cloud AV, Comodo Firewall (last futile try, I hate apps, that can not be uninstalled).
I prefer installing only high quality apps based on reviews and opinions skilled users, like those on Wilders to prevent registry junk.

Similar experience for me. When I joined Wilders 5 years ago I was going crazy testing out apps. Since one year now I'm using the same 3 apps and I have no intention to change.

I can see some of you have been very busy too. It's understandable that people want to experiment, and to then try and narrow it down to a few Apps that cover as much ground as feasable.

The thing is, with ALL those available choices out there, the possible combinations and options/settings etc are almost limitless. I guess we'll never really know if we have the ultimate practicle solution. I suppose that's what keeps driving us on, and who could 100% say they would never change anything, or try something new !

Thanks for your input, some nice soft in there, and good memories too of trying quite a number of them myself.

I've tested most of the firewalls a while ago, to see how well they perform against leaks. And testing AV's all the time.
