Default Build 9791 USA ATI 2009 released

As of my post, ATI 2009 build 9791 has been released, however on the web site its still listed as build 9709. I noticed on the product updates page the file size changed from 88mb to 91mb for ATI 2009, so I downloaded the trial and installed.

On my main PC (vista x64 sp2), which had builds 9709 and 9788 installed, build 9791 installed properly and didn't ask for my serials, which probably recognized my previous registered install. I was one of those having serial issues with build 9788. Rebooted my PC and ATI 2009 build 9791 was functional.

I also installed 9791 on a fresh VM (vista x64 sp2). Upon install it asked for my 2009 serial and previous version serial, then proceeded to install without issue. Rebooted and it functioned properly. I have yet to test any backups, however the serial problems apparently have been fixed.

Hopefully Acronis will update the website soon with some release notes of 9791.

Interesting.

I have ATI Home 2009 build 9709. My update page still shows the 88mb file. I didn't know there was a 9788 build.

Since I bought ATI 8 in 2005, I have received NO update notices - NONE.

OK...

Now I am really confused. Last week, I checked the site for updates and found build 9788. Downloaded it and everything is working fine. Now you find another build. On top of that...I went to the website and 9788 is GONE and there is NO 9791. So now the only build available is 9709. Hey Acronis...what gives

Build 9,788 was released and then pulled by Acronis because of serial number problems. When they did that, the "latest" build was dropped back to 9,709. Apparently, build 9,791 is the replacement. If Acronis has actually released it, it may still be a day or two before it shows up for everyone.

Build 9788 was pulled apparantly because of serial number problems and was replaced with the previously released build 9709. The reference kaneman made in the initial posting was that he installed the trial version which I see is truely build 9791. It appears that the registered products page has not been updated yet.

Glad I don't rely on Acronis for notifications.

ETA-
From online chat - build 9796 will be online soon.

FWI
According to live chat - there is no 9791 build - it is in fact 9796 - a GUI issue.

Normally, I would try to keep my Acronis at the latest level to prevent problems that may have been corrected. However, it's conflicting information like this that keeps me from trying to install the latest build for my Acronis 2009.

It is different than 9709 - very very slightly.

I'm learning the old saying "If it works, don't fix it" is especially true with software.

OK, so I see the issue. Build 9796 shows as Build 9791 in the "About" screen (see screen capture).

You can download 9796 from the below link, however I DO NOT RECCOMEND downloading the latest build until its officially listed on the products update page. I have a feeling a new build might be released to correct the error in build numbers listed on the about page.

https://www.acronis.com/my/download/....9796_s_en.exe

Just thought I'd tell a tale of BSOD's I was getting with the past build 9788, in case anyone else is experiencing the same problem. Last week I installed build 9788 (no longer available due to major issues) over build 9709, which caused many problems. I tried uninstalling 9788 at the advice of online support. However that build never completely uninstalled.

I started getting blue screens by either powering on or off my usb hdd's in Vista x64 with a blue screen error reading: "Multiple_IRP_Complete_Requests". I did some troubleshooting and found the culprit to be the trueimagemonitor.exe process. By disabling that process in startup, and rebooting, I was able to power on/off my usb hdd's without issue. The problem still occurred with 9796, which was installed over 9709 and 9788.

I zero'd out my OS partition re-installed Vista and did a clean install of 9796, and my usb hdd's work fine, even by powering on/off in Vista. The problem probably was the old build never completely uninstalled and was making multiple requests causing the bsod. So, in my case, a clean install of Vista and the latest build of TI2009 seemed to solve the problem.

I just downloaded and installed build 9791 from MajorGeeks (it may be build 9796 but MajorGeeks, the program GUI and file version show it as 9791) over build 9770. Unlike build 9788, it installed with no problems and never even asked for my serial number. Checking my registered products on the Acronis website, it still shows 9709 as the latest build. I find it odd Acronis will release a new build for downloading from MajorGeeks before it updates its own website.

Hi Skytrooper

It should have no need to ask for a serial number as you only installed an update.

If you installed a upgrade, it would then have needed [asked] for a new serial number.

Take Care
