Default Access secure zone from CD Boot

Hi

I have had some issues with my XP install and have decided to try to go back using TI 11 (build 8,101).

The restore got half way through before coming up with an error for a corrupt TIB archive. This rendered my computer unbootable - MBR error.

I created a bootable CD by installing TI 11 on another machine.

This booted OK and I tried to access the secure zone as this is where another back-up is located. I get the error "Backups of this type cannot be restored from removable a media"

I use the booted version of TI 11 to overwrite the MBR, as it seems to be non-functional anyway, to allow TI to run on boot. I am still unable to access the back-up within the secure zone.

I can not load windows since the attempted restore failed.

Is there anything I can do to progress with this?

Many thanks

Hello PDD,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image

Have you validated the archive located in Acronis Secure Zone? If not, please do it under Acronis Booting Rescue Media. Also, what kind of backup have you created? You can restore partition image or data backup only, you are unable to use Acronis Booting Rescue Media to restore e-mail backup or Application settings backup.

Thank you.

Thanks for the replies and sorry for the slow response - difficulty getting on another computer to reply from.

The secure zone is in the default location on the master drive - this is partitioned to give a relatively 'clean' c: drive for windows and programme files. There is no drive letter associated with the secure zone (AFAIK)

It is this c: drive partition that I am trying to restore - essentially the OS and a basic suite of programmes.

I have not validated the Secure Zone back-up. I will do this and report back - when I can get online again!

Thanks for the help.

Hello PDD,

Thank you for your response.

Please let us know the results at your earliest convenience. If the program detects the archive corruption, please see this article, it will help you to troubleshoot the issue.

Thank you.
