Hi,
I have a Testimage from my Client. Now I put a empty Harddisk in this Client and boot with the Aconis boot CD. After that, I connect the bootable Client. Thats all ok so far. When I open the True Image Management Console, I can connect to this PC. But when I try to choose the Image for reackup, I became an Error "Error while opening the Backup Archiv from the personal Backup Location". Why that? Please help!!!! :-) With regards |

Hello KA76344,
Thank you for using Acronis Products The source of the issue are NTLDR or Ntdetect.com files are not present on the active partition. 1. Start the machine from Windows installation CD; (!) You may need to change the boot order in the system BIOS to let the machine boot from CD. 2. At the Welcome to Setup screen, press R to repair the Windows installation using Recovery Console; 3. Type the number that corresponds to the Windows installation that you want to repair, and then press Enter. E.g., type 1, and then press Enter; 4. Type the Administrator password, and then press Enter; 5. Type the following commands: cd.. dir /p 6. Check if NTLDR and Ntdetect.com files are listed in the root of the drive. If the files are present, then please proceed to Boot.ini file is corrupt or points to incorrect partition. If these files are not present, proceed with the steps below; 7. Type map and then press Enter; 8. Note the drive letter that is assigned to the CD\DVD-ROM drive that contains the Windows CD; 9. Type the following commands: copy [drive]:\i386\ntldr [letter]:\ copy [drive]:\i386\ntdetect.com [letter]:\ where [drive] is the drive letter of your CD\DVD-ROM drive and [letter] is a letter of the drive Windows is installed on. Press Enter after you issue each of the two commands. If you are prompted to overwrite the file, type y, and then press Enter. 10. Reboot the machine. Windows should be bootable now. If it is not, please proceed to Boot.ini file is corrupt or points to incorrect partition. Boot.ini file is corrupt or points to incorrect partition 1. Hi,
but on the Partition old Partition, the Files are present and work. I know how to fix this Problem, but when I make an Image of an Harddisk who works, it must be able to work when I rebuild it. I tried another time, now I can boot but the Computer restarts any time. I test it again with a new harddisk, maybe the old have an error. regards |

Hello KA76344,
Thank you for using Acronis Corporate Products Could you please provide us with the exact title of your product? What is the build number of your Acronis software? You can find out the build number by selecting "Help" option, "About". Have you tried to recover the archive to a dissimilar hardware? Do you use Acronis Universal Restore? If the motherboard, CPU and hard disk controllers of the source computer that you backed up differ from the hardware of the new one, you should use Acronis Universal Restore. The Acronis Universal Restore technology provides an efficient solution for restoration of a hardware-independent system by replacing the crucial HAL and hard disk controller drivers. Please see this article for more information. Thank you. -- Oleg Lee
