hidden partition

Hi, Im sorry if this is a really simple question or it has been asked before. I have a acer netbook which has a hidden partition containing default new configuration. Question is will full backup copy this hidden partition? With TI11 i have an option of backing up the C drive and/or the hidden partition file. What I obviously want to do is back up the whole shooting match so that if disaster happens to the hard drive I can start afresh, with the hidden partition and contents intact.

If you want to create a backup image of the entire drive, check the Disk # checkbox to select all partitions (if TI can see the partition and you can include it, it will be backed up). This image can then be restored as an Entire Disk Image.

Thanks Mudcrab, I have selected both the C drive and the hidden "PQSERVICE" eisa configuration. When I explore the image files I can see the files in the hidden image. What concerns me now is the operating system and program files on the drive are listed as an image of C drive whilst hidden partition is listed as D drive. Xp disc management doesnt give the hidden partition any drive letter? I just want to be sure I can create the hidden partition if the hard drive falls over.

Drive letters used by TI don't always match what Windows uses. This is why it's important to have your partitions labeled with meaningful names (Windows, Data, Backups, etc.).

Is the hidden partition only showing up as D: when you explore the image and not when you look at the partitions using the Backup section (when running TI in Windows)? If so, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for trhe response. When the image file is viewed in TI 11 restore it shows both the hidden partition and the C drive in the restore screen. Sounds like you nailed it. thanks again
