Default Firefox (0.8) and Norton AV

Hi all,

Is there anybody who uses Firefox (0. and NAV (auto protect) together?
And do any of those persons have tried protection against the eicar testvirus found here:
http://www.eicar.org/anti_virus_test_file.htm

If so, did NAV gave a warning?

Greetings,

Gerard

What do you expect NAV to do on that page?
The test string that's printed on the page will not be found. To any scanner it's just some inline text that can not be executed, it's harmless.

In firefox you have the option to save the eicar.com file on download. The file i/o will be scanned by your scanner, so it will detect the eicar signature and alert you.

But since I don't use NAV, I can't predict what behaviour you'll get.
