Increased scan activity when idle ...

Hi all,

I hope someone can help me, when my PC goes idle scan activity increases and my HDD goes totally crazy, I was not able to find any options about that so does anybody know what might be a reason ?

Sounds to me Windows is indexing files for its search engine. Also happened to me and the moment I wanted to track it down it stopped loading my disk.
