Download one of the most powerfull on-demand scanners with no setup, just extract the file to usb flash (don't run from hard disk or you will have a permanent service in the task manager) and run the file a2free.you can update it too.

the latest release 4.5.0.1 from here:
    http://download1.emsisoft.com/a2usb.zip
    file size : 52 MB

FPs, in the long months I've been running the free version, are very few. I think I've only had like 4. And, have been fixed very shortly, after being reported.

What's different from the Free version? is it just the portability? Thanks.

yes there are more false positives than other scanners but the user is not forced to delete everything the program detects. it just tells you that this file is suspicious and in my openion this is not bad.it also takes a long time in deep scan.A-Squared has more than 3 million malware signatures.
