Try simply drag and drop the object .Or maybe the file is too large.

Hossie - I am using Word 2002 on an XP machine. Here's what I did... - I created a word doc and zipped it - I opened a new blank word doc (call it newdoc) - I did a cut/paste of the zipped file into newdoc. It appears as an object in newdoc. If I click on the object, it launches winzip - just as if I clicked on the zipped file from outside of Word. - If I do an "Insert File" command in newdoc and attempt to insert the zipped file, I get gibberish from Word - it is attempting to read the zip file and is asking me "select encoding that makes your document readable" I guess my question to you is - why do you want to insert a zipped file into a word file? Are you expecting to have text inserted? If yes, I'm thinking you should unzip it first. |
