Default Pre Sales Question - The right tool

I am looking for an imaging tool that will help me do the following:
1) I would like to take a new drive and partition it in half.
a) The first half PART-OS would contain the OS
b) The second half PART-IMG would contain an image backup of PART-OS
2) When the computer boots, I would like to be given a boot menu to either choose to boot to PART-OS (default), or boot to PART-IMG to restore the PART-OS partition.
3) As I'm in the PART-OS, I would like to execute a backup that will save the current image to the PART-IMG partition (Update the image to restore)

What is the best tool to do this?

If you are familiar with VMWare Workstation, my goal is to mimic the Snapshot feature (without multiple snapshots). I just want to be able to restore back to the last snapshot.

The Secure Zone of Acronis TrueImage (TI 2009) would suffice as your PART-IMG.

The training video's probably illustrate this as well as the user manual. I do not use the Secure Zone so I will let others provide some help. If your hard drive fails, all your backups are gone using this procedure.

I have no connection to Acronis.

If you are wanting suggestions for other programs, you would probably get more replies if this were posted on the "Software & Services" forum.
