Have been using / installing Nod32 for a couple of years and have the following issue that I can't resolve. Local ESET sales & support do not respond to calls.
Have a current issue with V4 where after install trial version was installed on Vista Basic PC, which previously had Nortons 360 installed, Nod32 was then uninstalled. When trying to re-install Nod32 V4 system says "The installer has insufficient privledges to modify this file: C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\msvcp.dll.". If I ignore it just goes to the next file Have tried: 1. Resetting Program File & Program Data folders for ESET to Administrator Group owner and inherited down the tree..no go. Tried creating a new Admin user.....no go. Tried deleting all....no go. Any ideas would be appreciated. |

Can you delete the ESET folder in C:\Program Files? If not, what errors are you getting? You can try deleting from Safe Mode if you do get errors.

you may need to boot into safemode and delete NOD32 drivers which are protecting NOD32 from modifications and thus the error.
download driverview: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html run it to see installed and active drivers look in the description for ESET drivers and take note of their file names boot into safe mode, go to Windows\System32\drivers and delete ESET drivers |

JuliusB is on the right track. What you need to do is boot into safe mode. Then open the device manager, go to view>>Show hidden devices. On the list of devices expand Non-Plug and Play drivers. Find ehdrv and epfwtdir and uninstall them. Reboot to normal mode and follow the instructions in the following knowledgebase article.
