Default Dr.Watson Debugging program in Windows XP

I have Windows XP Home, SP3, IE7, OE6 AND Dr.Watson, Microsoft`s medical marvel who keeps vigil over my computer tantrums at all times and flashes up an Error panel with options to Debug - Send report to MS or Cancel.

I have read dozens of items on the net about this mad medic. They vary from, rubbish - get rid of it, uses too much MB - get rid of it, it`s out of date - scrap it, to - it does a very good job detecting program errors and taking action.

Some say Delete it completely, some say just Disable it using ;-

TO DISABLE DR.WATSON DEBUGGING

START/RUN, enter REGEDIT, press OK
Working from L/H panel, double click, then Rt. click, then double click EXPAND each one of the following in turn
HKEY_LOCAL-MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS NT/CURRENT VERSION/AEDEBUG
then double Lt.click AUTO on R/H hand panel
Change value 1 to 0, then CLOSE. All done, Dr.Watson debugging now disabled.

Well ! all this is very confusing.
What is your opinion on Dr.Watson - Do you employ him or have you sacked him ?

FYI. This is the Description of the Dr. Watson for Windows (Drwtsn32.exe) Tool and even Microsoft details How to disable Dr. Watson for Windows. If you choose to live without this error debugger's alerts, you now have instructions on how to disable it. I would not delete it IMO.
