Hi all,
When someone asks you to name a small Linux distro, under 100MB, names like Puppy and Damn Small Linux come to mind. Now, the featherweight category has another candidate, a 25MB fighter called Slitaz. 25MB sounds like an awfully little, so it begs a cliche questions: what can you possibly cram into 25MB of space and still maintain a functional distro? Well, the answer is - read on to find out. http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/slitaz.html Comments and suggestions are welcome. Mrk

Slitaz is a lovely little distro. Tis my favourite of all the mini distros. There's the odd bug here and there. I couldn't get flash working at all, even after following all advice and workarounds. But generally, it ran sweet as a nut (old British term meaning "well" for our non-brit people) I can see it doing really well once the creases have been ironed out. One to watch.
I started this thread a few weeks back. http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showt...ghlight=slitaz Hey Mrk, have you looked at Tinycore yet? Very sweet minute livecd indeed. |

25MB, wonders of Linux will never cease, this will be a boon for old laptops which don't have the horsepower left to run latest OS.

I believe you alright. I don't write reviews and such. However, I just can't stop playing. I say to myself right, i'm sticking with Debian and that's that. And then curiousity gets the better of me. Tonight it's kde's 4.2.2 INSTALLABLE livecd (which is basically Suse) I just can't resist it. |

Four minutes to get Slitaz up and onto the internet...Amazing for 25 megs or so. I am also impressed with its other offerings too.
Thanks for the heads up. |

Slitaz 2.0 has just been released. I'm going to give it a go later. See if I can get flash working in this release.
