I was hoping this would be fixed in the next version but I guess not. I turned off Aero and it no longer happens but I did leave my taskbar set to autohide.

It's got nothing to do with the software it's a random Vista issue.

Must be something else not playing nicely with v4. Perhaps you could try shutting down various running processes to see if it goes away or even updating your video driver.

I have found no other software that is conflicting besides Aero. With it off it does not happen with it on, the taskbar pops up/blinks every few seconds. Keep in mind I have my taskbar set to autohide at all times. If I roll back to v3, it does not happen with Aero enabled.
I am only running node32v4 ATM but I can say I have turned off allits features individually and can not find the one doing this.

All drivers for all componenets are up to date and I will say this spans multiples sets of each audio, LAN, chipset ad GPU driver.

I use Win Vista 32-bit, no SP and have not seen such a problem. The taskbar stays hidden until I move the mouse cursor to its area.

![]() Turn on Aero by: Control Panel >> Personalization >> Window Color and Appearance >> Color Scheme >> Windows Aero taskbar flickers...but not until after I rebooted post v417 install. all settings at default other than my defined weekly scan that has not triggered. Turn off Aero by: Control Panel >> Personalization >> Window Color and Appearance >> Color Scheme >> Windows Vista Basic No flicker.

I would be interested to know what video card and driver is being used by people that are experiencing this.

My rig is in my sig.
GPU drivers are: 182.08 and 182.50 for sure but I cannot remember if v4 came out when I was running 182.06 or not. The drivers are properly removed and hten reinstalled. remove Physx, then the drivers boot into safe mode and run driversweeper boot into normal windws and install new drivers(physx and driver combo) reboot as prompted then configure quadSLI.

I'm seeing it with my 8800GT using official 182.50 drivers or the Xtreme-G 182.08 Vista32 modded ones. |

Vista Business 32-bit AMD Athlon X2 5000+ ATI Radeon HD 4850 (Sapphire brand) Catalyst 9.4 drivers (same problem in 9.2 and 9.3) Obviously only when taskbar is on auto-hide (otherwise the Start button is fixed) Gigabyte motherboard (Socket AM2+) Realtek 889x HD Audio 2 attached monitors (happens with one or both enabled) Notable background programs: Realtek HD Audio Manager Acronis-related disk management services Microsoft Intellipoint Windows Defender Windows Firewall I've tried numerous things to make it go away, and the only thing that seems to affect it is ending NOD32's gui.exe process. This causes the flashing to only occur on certain mouse movements (changing program focus, clicking buttons, etc). I've tried using Process Monitor to pinpoint what is happening at the time of the flash, and the only related entries I find are explorer.exe querying the registry for the current video settings (seems like a refresh). |

I have the flickering problem pretty bad with 4.0.417.0.
Intel quad 2.8 GHz Nvidia GTX 280 with latest drivers Vista 32 Taskbar Autohide On (I temporarily turn it off to stop the flickering - but this is not a good option in the long run) Windows Classic theme (Aero is not used) Thanks, Steve |

This is actually a problem of Windows and certain applications. If you have an application that refreshes its icon in the system tray, Windows shows the whole taskbar and hides it immediately. We have read about this problem in connection with other applications as well and confirmed the behavior by removing / adding the icon refresh functionality. We'll most likely remove this functionality in future builds if no workaround is found.
