Both products are same.
So Hitman pro should be incompatible with Eazfix too.

Build 84 (2009-12-23)

* Added caching to the Gossip classifier.
* Fixed a problem relating the Winlogon Shell registry value to a threat. The Shell value is reset upon removal of the threat.
* Fixed the empty result view which is related to the 'Report this file as Safe' functionality.

I wonder if that part in bold could cause the BlackSOD that some have had a month ago?

I don't know if this is the right place for this, but either TDSS has changed the way it operates, or Hitman Pro has an unfortunate bug in it. After detecting the rootkit successfully, Hitman Pro closes due to a DEP error before I can click the next to proceed with deletion.

The office is closed from December 25th and January 3rd. During this period people are working from their homes to answer questions. So far no news on Rollback Rx fix.

This program crashes a lot during analysis. I need to clode all programs/services that I can for this to work. Even then it sometimes crashes after analysis with a DEP error.

Clearly it has some serious problems with analysis of runing processes.

Besides this post we have not heard of DEP problems before. What is your security configuration?

At the moment, MBAM Pro + PC Tools Firewall.

I think one of the problems was shell32.dll, I modified some of its icons so Hitman found it suspicious and upon uploading it crashed.

I have a suggestion, I think it is better that the program doesn't upload the files during analysis and give the user the chance to choose which files he wants to be uploaded, because for example it uploaded some big setup files that were sitting on the desktop.

I know but I should do that every time.
An 'Exclude this file from future scans' option would be good.

sjoeii, kees posted the link on this page: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showt...236732&page=28

Wilders users have flamed that site - for different reasons - but if I were the site owner etc, I would have seen the various comments and taken any criticism on board.

From what I can tell, their forums seem strictly business, there is continual testing of new programs not being tested elsewhere, and the infected system rescue test and executing live samples is a step in the right direction.

Before anyone gets their knickers in a knot, and says Osama Bin Laden is running the site, some time is going into the tests, you can't dispute that. To me it's just another test to store in my small brain, and hitman did well.

Hitman Pro is detecting (again, NOD engine) Avast 5 file as a trojan. Not sure if Hitman needs to know this as well as ESET.

I just corrected this 5 minutes ago. Can you please verify it is corrected?

About the licensing system, reinstalling your PC indeed allows you to run the trial again. If you want to go through the hassle, be my guest .

Raymond does provide some useful information, but as demand for his site and new reviews increases, he may have used an older version, and prepared the review earlier than the 31 Dec release date.

He may have used the older version, prepared the release, and updated his review with a new overview screenshot - by the look of his review, might have been what he did.

Or maybe deleting some files, trying to play around with the licensing something happened with the install and running of the program. I don't know.

Erik, good to know the licence system can't be screwed with. You're already providing the scan only feature for free, which is costing you $$ with overhead.
