Macrium Reflect Question
Can you make a disk image with the rescue CD like Acronis True Image? I've used the free version of MR and it doesn't have that feature. Does the paid version allow you to image from the CD?

I have thought about buying it,for such reasons as you state. But now I am either using bartPE ramdisk with image on other hdd. Or I have image on media like dvd, and use PE of somekind to run macrium and restore. I am not sure I need to buy a version when I have already working now. But I woudl like to try out incrmental portions of Macrium.

I liked what I saw on their web site but never considered whether the program could handle that. I suppose I just figured it could but, based on a recent post in the MR support forum (dated 2/22/09), it looks like I was mistaken.
Create an Image from Boot CD? Yes. 'Cold' Imaging is to be added in a future release. Kind Regards Nick - Macrium Support |
