Default [Quake Live] I need a ruleset for running Quake Live with ESS

Hey!

I'm unable to play Quake Live from both Firefox and Inter Explorer 7.

Ony their website they say you need to open:
Protocol: TCP
Host: gaimtheory.idsoftware.com
Port: 5222

And maybe also ports 27000-27017

But the thing is my firefox.exe is set to allow everything, all ports, in/out and UDP/TCP.

What do Ineed to do to get this running?

Thanks!

No, I'm afraid this issue has not been resolved.

Any ideas Richard?

Thanks!

Hello,

Does it work with the firewall disabled? You can try adjusting your protocol filtering and running in interactive mode. To do this see the following Knowledgebase article: http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN939

Thank you,
Richard

I am running in interactive mode and still I do not get any questions about the rules.

If I disable the firewall temporarily Quake live works perfect

I am having a similar problem trying to run a SHOUTcast server. Turning the firewall totally off or using the interactive mode allows people to connect but I keep getting too many messages from ESS about allowing stuff. Is there a way to just allow port 8080 past the firewall or just the sv_serv.exe file?

Hello BliND123 and Xophile,

I have sent both of you a PM requesting some more info. I want to test this to find the issue.

Thank you,
Richard
