Default HP Recovery With Two Drives?

My Computer came with two 500gb drives. One has vista on it and one was empty until i filled it . I want to use HP Recovery and hoping it only erases the vista partition. According to hp support it will only erase the vista partition but has anyone experienced this?

That's correct, but you would be wise to use a disk-imaging program rather than depend on the HP recovery partition. HP's emergency recovery recovers your system to the state it was in when it was shipped - that's not very desirable after removing the trial programs and adding your own apps!

As I said, your C-drive/partition would revert to the state it was shipped in, so any and all files added to C: after receiving the PC would be lost by running the HP recovery, although D:, etc, would not be affected...

Get and regulary use a disk-imaging backup program!

Actually D: is the recovery partition. E: was the empty drive.

No matter - what I said about D: applies to any drive/partition other than C:
