Default So AYGHOST looks like it would be really slick, i.e. image/snapshot combo but...

at $100 (per year, I assume) would be insane. I mean in three to four years, at $100/year, you could purchase a pc that would probably provide twice the performance of what you'd been using when you first purchased AYGH. Perhaps if they ever have a sale!

No ratchet, the $100 is a one-time charge (for v2.x), but even so imho it's hardly worth the price. I don't see that if offers any better features than other similar programs such as Acronis True Image or Paragon Drive Copy, which are available for less!

Aaron, it's my understanding that the only image progs that are compatible with the snapshot progs are Drive SnapShot, Image for Windows and ShadowProtect.

ratchet, that is simply not true. As I replied to you in your other thread on AyRecovery...
Quote:
In order to properly backup a system with AyRecovery installed you need a disk-image program which:

a) Provides the ability to backup after booting from the Recovery CD (or some other boot CD).

AND

b) Contains an All-Sectors backup mode (also referred to as 'raw mode', or 'sector-by-sector' or 'maintenance mode' by various disk-imaging programs).

There are several disk-imaging programs that can do this, such as the ones mentioned by raakii (plus others) and most of them have been discussed in many other threads that you will find in this forum.
