Default Has anyone encountered this?

Some website form fill- ins for email or search requests show "foreign" alphabet characters instead of the English language. The sites are cnet.com and zdnet .com among some others. I am using Win95b and I.E.5.5SP2. I have a screenshot, but I don't know how to insert it into this forum or whether it would be welcome. Thanks for your help.
Best regards,
R.Q.

Did you try Encoding from the VIEW option in IE ? You should set it to Auto Select or Western European(windows)

Dear Technodrome,
Thanks you were right on the money. I had to download "autoselect" via "download on demand".This only occurred since my update to I.E.5.5SP2. All is well now. Thanks again.
Best Regards
