Default vmware programs

I have been using ubuntu in vmware player and I have a question.Do I have to update the guest system (ubuntu in my case) in order to be secure.Or can I use it as it is?

Hello,
You update it the same way you would on any other installation. When updates are available, install them. It should be transparent.

I am very pleased with ubuntu.I will try other linux distros too.I am amazed to see how fast and beautiful linux system is.My next PC will definitely be a Linux PC.
