    They already do.

    They monitor and keep logs of online activites of their customers. I don't know why anyone would be surprised at this.

    3 years ago my own ISP cracked down HARD on customers who were using Limewire and cancelled many contracts and warned parents of potential discontinued service and contract cancellations if they discovered anymore Limewire activities going on.

    I questioned them out of curiosity about why and they responded it was draining the bandwidth from their service so much that other customers who don't use peer-to-peer Limewire were being adversely affected. Apparently the MULTIPLE connections on several accounts was taxing more bandwidth then the ISP was willing to accept.
