Default Avast Update Frequency?

I'm trialling Avast along with various other corporate (i.e. centrally controllable) antivirus packages.

I guess having used Kaspersky for a couple of weeks may have spoiled me, but I installed Avast this morning, and I was a little surprised that the latest updates after a full update were dated yesterday.

Appreciate any feedback on whether this is anything to be concerned about or whether all the malware writers are away on their summer hols so there's not much new activity?

Avast usually updates once per day.
