Default JAP install

I downloaded JAP the other day and thought I would install it tonight.
I tried 5 times without any luck.
They have the goofiest install I have ever seen.
INstall starts , then it trys to download some more files from a site to finish. Well guess if you download IE you get that same starteer install file.
Anyway , the web site comes up as not found to get the rest of the files.
Bad first experience with JAP

controler - Other than the fact that it's a totally non-profit organizational structure (and hence probably under-funded) , I don't know what to tell you other than to keep trying.

I just un-installed the whole shooting-match, re-started and re-d/l'ed and re-installed it with no problem.

Go figure. Pete

Well, depending on how bad you want it, start turning things off until it does right. It sounds to me like XP is having a problem (I'm not going to ask you things like : Do you have XP's firewall turned off/Are you logged in w/admin rights, etc.). Pete

Okay, it could be that (I really don't know).

Where are all our XP-experts when you need them?

Do you ever turn your ICQ on? Pete

Bethrezen - Go to this site: http://anon.inf.tu-dresden.de/index_en.html and start reading.

(You may have problems getting there - it seems slow tonight). Start with the page you land on there, and then start clicking on the various links for more info.

I'm calling it a night. Pete

noobie - There are plenty of others - and best is in the eye of the beholder!

Just type 'anonymous proxy' into your browsers' 'Search' field to find/read about more. Pete

This is probably a stupid question, but did you also install Sun's Jave Runtime Environment (JRE)?

I decided to give Jap another try. I downloaded
javaws-1_0_1_02-win-us-rt.exe from Suns site. This is Suns Java Webstart program. I then downloaded
japRelease.jnlp from Japs website

It now seems to be running. I just need to try figure out whats going on and how to use the program..

Yup Jap is working fine and isn't that tough to figure out.
Seems to be working well with Outpost also...
