Today, I went to download something from Microsoft, and everytime I tried to initiate the download, this website actually intercepted my browser, performed a fake spyware scan, and prompted me to install something.
The only results for this in Google were posts on websites that were posted today, 8/14/08. http://www.google.com/search?num=100...oc-scanner.net Note: I don't think Microsoft has been hacked. The posts that the Google search brings up reveal that people were experiencing this under different circumstances. One person who responded to a report about this thinks it may be caused by a trojan on the user's computer. If you have not downloaded anything, then you *should* be safe, Try scanning with SAS and/or MBAM just to be sure.

Thanks.
So, it looks like this is a new threat and should be reported to the anti-malware companies, huh? Edit Someone reported it here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/i...showtopic=5752 Last edited by noduser : August 15th, 2008 at 08:33 AM. |

Hmmmm
none of the URLs work for me. Only one of them takes me to the Rogue site, but I can't get to download it.
