Default Bootable restore disk

Having created a bootable CD version of TI 11 in case I need to do a standalone restore, I have no means of verifying that the CD works without actually booting it.
Q: If I simply boot the CD without telling it to restore the backup (an 'all files and system state' backup rather than a sector-by-sector image - if that makes any difference), will my existing hard disk be written to or erased?
(I don't want to do a test firing and find TI has scrubbed the disk in preparation for a non-existent restore to follow!)

Default Re: Bootable restore disk

The CD will boot to a graphical user interface that looks a lot like the Windows version of the program. You can browse around and have a look without actually doing a restore. One of the first things that you should check is to see if the recovery environment can see all of your disks. Do this by starting the backup wizard. One of the screens will ask you which partition(s) or disk(s) you want to back up. Check to see that all of yours are recognized, then cancel the backup wizard.

The boot CD will not write to your hard disk unless you complete the backup or restore wizard and click "OK" to proceed.
