I chose separate but if I were to get a suite it probably would be Avira or Eset.

None! Don't use them as none of them are ready for prime-time as of yet? Integration software never promises to deliver on target! These software make you think you're protected behind a fort wall and nothing can get in but with the changing new code kiddies out there it's hard to stop everything. What they need to focus on is a browser that can read what in the cache before it hops onto your system HDD. Component pieces seem to do a better job, but they're not fool proof either.
Almost like you have tin soldiers lined up to protect you once the other side tries to attack you. It has got worst now than the prior years. Most of these software above has false positive and you could remove software that is needed for the file system. True you could restore it and have the software ignore it next time. So my advice is to use components 1, firewall, 1 anti-virus, 1, anti-spyware/adware, 1 anti-malware as a good defense. As one misses the hopper the others should detect it, but might not even happen and they still get in to do the damage. Code injection is good but still will just tell you that the hopper has landed on the system and trying to use the internet to call out. You could block that hopper and go to that directory and change it from "thankyou.exe to thankyou.bak. Some other new ones like bots like svehost.exe, svdhost.exe (this one is also in the registry and system32 but hidden. The other one is ususally in c:\program files folder. Easy to remove. |

No blacklists or whitelists here.
Hardware firewall, Sandboxie, Returnil and Ghost Images do me fine. Zero day - zero worry. ![]()

I'm currently using Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite, although it runs out in 3 weeks.
I'm thinking of switching to either Kaspersky or ESET Smart Security, not sure which yet. |

Prefer separate programs, but if needed would go with Avira.

I don't see GData Total Care or there other Suite on your list. The suites in many cases do seem to be average firewalls bundled with parental and anti-spam. Unless you a family with alot users i recommend a seperate anti-virus and firewall.
