hey,
my computer is kinda old. it doesnt really matter cause i take care of it. i recently format it and got a new 160HD. all worked fine until yesterday. internet became slow and suddenly i cant surf into sites at all. its not ISP problem ive checked it. the major problem, which i think connects to this one is that after a while, Explorer.exe is disappearing from the Processes menu (ctrl+alt+delete ofcourse) and i get is a black screen. i dont have my desktop nor my icons, windows control panel, just the background picture. i checked for viruses and there were none. i also checked for adware and spyware. i had like 212 infected files. i cleaned everything. and im still having problems. what do u think? whats my problem? thanks in advance! ![]() |

It might seem a stupid question, but since adware/spyware fall into a different category than viruses and trojans, did you check for the latter? I'm thinking something got missed. If after doing that your computer gets completely clean and still has that problem, IMHO, format and reinstall the OS. |

Can you bring back your desktop by starting taskmanager - Applications tab - New Task and typing in explorer then hit ok or enter?
If it does come back up open Event Viewer and see if there's any reports relating to the prob.
