Hello.
I have noticed recently that I occasionally get this when browsing Wilders - Also, some of user's avatars in a thread (usually at the bottom of the page) do not display - I have this occuring only with Wilders. Is everything OK there or is it me? I really doubt it's me, but I thought to ask here first before trying anything... Thanks,

lol. I tried to open a thread to see your reply, and it happened again. Strange, I never had this... annoyance before.
As an additional info, my setup (hardware and software) has not changed in months.

Can it be your browser?

Well, theoretically it could be many things. I have Vista installed for almost a year now with a pretty much default setup. So the browser is IE7, no BHOs, no nothing. But as I said, this is not happening with other sites I visit (and have visited in the last 10 months). I have no firewall ( not even Vista's, just behind NAT), no AV, no AS, no security whatsoever. And this is happening for the last couple of weeks (2 maybe)...

Using Firefox I do not experience your issue.
Have you already tried clearing IE7's cache? Or clear your DNS cache?

While I have not experienced any issues today, this could be an isolated incidence affecting certain individuals and the cause could be that our Hosting company has issues.
This can only be addressed for the most part by LowWaterMark. As a normal course of action, he'll take a look and advise.

I have a habit of cleaning browser cache after (almost) every session (by the means of CCleaner). I often end up doing it several times a day. Quote:

This also came up to me. Or my ISP perhaps? Quote:
Yes, actually he's the one I was hoping to get an answer from. Let's see if he'll show up...

Just as an aside, when I do user cp, edit options and change the forum skin, there is no difference in them.

That error is actually a 503 status code and it is generated if you make too many simultaneous connections to the webserver here. We've generally only seen it when people have used browser tweaks that supposedly "speed up browsing" by increases values like 'MaxConnectionsPerServer' to too high a number.
Tools like xp-antispy and many other automated and manual browser tweaks or add-ons do that, although the limit xp-antispy sets is not too high. The default is 4 simultaneous connections I believe, xp-antispy sets it to 10. However, many other tools and tweak guides suggest setting it to 30 or more, which is way too many. I don't know what IE7s default is, but, I suspect it isn't too high either as we'd have a lot more 503 errors here than we are currently seeing if it was set too high for all IE7 users. Just using yesterday as an example... Out of 2.3 million hits there were only 812 of those "503 status codes" generated. |

All the other choices are meant to be used based upon your monitor display properties and resolution. They don't look any different when viewing most forum pages, but, they change the width of some dialog boxes. Say you have a large monitor with a high resolution of 1280 pixels in width or more... If you use Liquid or perhaps FullScreen800, the post reply and PM message box will be very narrow. But, choose FullScreen1280 then open a reply window and you'll see the message box is much wider. That's the only reason for the different choices - the display width of various dialog boxes. It's recommended that people select the option closest to their screen resolution width. |

Well, the things got worse. Much worse. I am posting through Tor now, as I cannot access Wilders through normal channels at all.

Simple Solution, an update of Flash Player generally fixes Seer's problem,in most cases
Shockwave is recommended too ![]()

DVD+R, Wilders do not use flash activex. And certainly not for still images. Besides, the same is happening on Debian, Gentoo and BSD, on separate machines I have here at hand. As I said, proxy access does not give me any issues. Apparently I can access Wilders now by regular means, but problem with avatars is still persistent. I got a promise from my ISP that they'll look into it shortly. I had a similiar problem with them a year and a half ago, so it keeps reocurring from time to time.
