set file Read only but i can delete it, why?
Hi
today i setup some files in read-only mode , in my deskop but i click on them ,strike the delete(canc) key and they were moved in the trash i setup some files in my directory c:\test\ , read only and is enough to strike the can key to delete i setup some files in my usb in read only mode , strike delete and they disapears , deleted what's wrong? how can i protect my files to be erased? have a nice day |

Read-only only prevents a file from being modified, not deleted.
If you want to prevent deletion, you need to alter the file security (remove delete permissions from appropiate users/groups). |

I fixed this with an ISR-software. Any file can still be deleted, but an ISR-software puts it back after reboot.
I tested this myself, once I deleted MS Office, Firefox and Thunderbird completely. After reboot everything was back and working.

ISR is of course more convenient (= reboot) than an IB software. The principle is simple : I don't want any good or bad change in my system partition, unless I do it myself. That keeps me in control without doing anything. After each reboot, I have my system back as it was when I installed it from scratch. Any object too much is removed, any disappeared object is added again, any changed object is replaced.
