    Hello, and welcome to Wilders.

Here is my recommendation for a superb back-up program (5-stars all the way)...

    Cobian Backup

Cobian is anexcellent, full-functioned back-up, very stable, plus it has a good tutorial & a support forum.

I'd guess that the OP is asking for a disk-imaging app, so my recommendation is Drive Image XML. If you have Seagate or Maxtor branded HDDs, you can get their disk utilities which are a lite version of Acronis True Image.

Hard to say what is best. I know what I like and use, it is best for me. It also depends on what you are looking to backup and what operating system you are using, of course Windows is assumed.

As you can see by some responses the term System Backup Software has different meanings to some. To me it means a traditional backup program that backup files, either individual groups or all files. Of course since you said System Backup Software, others has figured you must mean an Image Backup.

For windows I use Cobian Backup and Simply Safe Backup. I also use Drive Image XML and Seagate's Disk Wizard software.
