K-Meleon is as safe if not safer, since it has less lines of code to be exploited, and it is certainly the fastest browser and lightest on memory...

K-Meleon is one browser that needs higher recognition.

I like K-Meleon very much and yes it should deserve more credit.

Opera

---- and i dont even use it, but i think the majority kinda know this to be true.

however, firefox is getting much better, and things are faster than never with firefox, so this is my browser of choice at the moment.

some things, people just know.

like, which is the fastest for browsing?... Safari.

firefox offers he best overall features and performance.

I like Opera, but browsing was slow compared to firefox for me, and it played havoc with my mIRC client.

Nothing has beaten or ever will beat Lynx for safety.

Most of the time your choice of browser is as safe as you surf.

Safari in Windows had a critical unpatched vulnerability for months before Apple patched it. The reason Safari scores well is due to having the least exposure and being the newest around out of all the others. Let the user install base grow and then you will see far more vulnerabilities popping up. Going by Apple's attitude for their Windows version when it comes to patching vulnerabilities, I would wait a while before calling it safer than Opera or Firefox. If you read Secunia, also check the patch time turnaround for critical vulnerability, you will see Opera's turnaround time is the fastest.

I'm sure many who voted Firefox are using the NoScript add on. Which makes it a very safe browser indeed.
