Administrative Templates?

Are there or will there be administrative templates made available to make group policy deployments easier? I am in an environment where push installs are often not possible due to various firewalls and network oddities that are out of my control, but the clients can all phone in to the domain controllers and file servers just fine. Having an admin template to configure these settings instead of setting up a single client manually, exporting the registry keys for the settings, and then scripting a group policy batch job to merge the key and configure the settings would be a nice option.
