*optionally allow remote dektop during installation (disabled by default/unless selected)

would be handy for some who need to install on remote machines.

best place for the setting would probably be during advanced instal after interactive mode is selected.
once the box is ticked, it then gave you options to create the specific rule/ip or ip range

I think all those that want a downloadable rules database like Outpost should just switch to Outpost. I like the simplicity of ESS (having been an Outpost firewall user).
I just want to be able to edit all rules.

clearer "panic button".

like, "press here in case of severe panic and major rouge network traffic", to block all incoming and outgoing traffic

Firewall improvements ....
especially
- "Game mode" where you risk to freeze when ESS is asking for a decision
- a mode that would permit know benign apps to access the internet but ask for all others (as seen with other major competitors)

HIPS as others have mentioned

... and lastly better antispam functionality as well as integration to cilents

1. Delete messages in Eset Anti-Spam email folder.
2. Scan mail before Outlook Express email rules are applied
3. Clear all log files button.
4. Ability to completely shut down ESS (while working on offline projects that ekrn.exe interupts)

cheers

1. Firewall exclusion in AUTOMATIC mode
2. Hips
3. A little change in the userinterface.

The GUI is a big improvement from version 2.7, but i think the GUI were better in beta 2. I better like this splash screen http://catzone.ws/uploads/posts/1190...curity_3_0.jpg, just with the stats at the bottum(version signature version etc.) and the toolbar from beta 2 http://xs114.xs.to/xs114/07144/ess1.png, but ONLY the toolbar

Good to see you ask the users

Very much need to ability to enter Dynamic DNS names in the Trusted Zone setup (similar to the way specific IP addresses are entered).

Dynamic DNS (DDNS) allows you to create a hostname that points to your dynamic IP or static IP address.

Have the ESS uninstaller remove all unnecessary traces so that it would be easier to do a 'clean' reinstall. Should not have to delete files/folders/registry entries after uninstall.

Anti-spam integration with more e-mail clients including Opera.

"None-changes": NO Hips, no increase in memory usage.

I want often updates of database... like Kaspersky. Not just 1-2 times in a day. I understand that ESET has good heuristics, but sometimes it's not enough.

Support all compression methods would be great specially Archives with Exe files, because other types of files scanned without any problems for example an mp3 file

Link for an example : http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=200998

Default Realtime protection - Feature request

(I'm not sure if feature requests can go in here or should be emailed directly to eset.)

Hello,

First of all, great work on v3.

I liked the fact that the realtime protection is configurable and that i can select it to scan files only upon execution, creation and modify or open.

I think users would want (I know I do) to see a 4th option where you separate the creation and modification into two separate options. Right now, the "creation" option also makes the protection scan files upon modification which ends up in a lot more files being scanned than only upon creation (or only upon modification).

It would be a wonderful addition in my opinion and one that will appeal to users looking for the minimum impact on system speed.

Thanks for reading,

scenario: if i need it off once and the machine loses power for some reason then it will ome back up with the firewall on and i can't, for example, remote connect to it (this happened already)
