Default Problem with new WD 1TB SATA "Green" drive

After installing the WC10EACS-00ZJB0 (1 TB green SATA drive), TI 9.1 Workstation begain stalling for literally minutes each time you start a backup or recovery operation (when trying to bring up the dialog asking you what to backup, or where to look for archives).

The latest version of DD10 also hangs on startup while "analyzing partitions" in the progress box.

The drive is on SATA2 and is not the boot drive. Before adding this drive, I had a 500 GB WD drive on the same channel with no issues.

Both programs seem to work fine after this intial (but VERY long) delay.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

In the case of DD10 this long delay seems to be associated with numerous event log messages (System Events) that repeat over and over.

Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the TrkWks service.

Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the ShellHWDetection service.

Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the dmserver service.

Hello cjfraz,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Remote Workstation Disk Backup Software.

Please make sure you use the latest build (3887) of Acronis True Image 9.1 Workstation. To get access to updates you should first register your software.

Please download the latest version of Acronis drivers and install it with disabled logging.

If the issue persists, please collect some information to let us investigate it thoroughly:

- Reinstall Acronis drivers with enabled logging;
- Reproduce the issue and collect the log file without closing any application windows (including the error message windows if there are any). The log file will be created at C:\ . The name of the log file will be snapapi [date-time].log

Please create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post. Please keep the drive in question connected and powered on during the creation process.

If possible, please clarify, was Windows Vista ever installed on any of the drives that are currently in your system (including the new one)?

Could you please also clarify, what do you mean by "green SATA drive"?

Then submit a request for technical support with the subject indicating that you want to contact Marat Setdikov. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution.

Thank you.
